Someone who has gone through the work it takes to look and feel their very best should have photos that show the work involved. Not shots in the gym, or running, or even lifting. Shots that show the end results. The 6 pack, the ridges, the shape that comes from being fit. I like to show the body like a mountain with its shape. At noon it doesn’t look all that impressive. It’s lit from above and there are no features. View that same mountain as the sun rises or sets and you get the story of that mountain and the valleys and peaks and shadows. That’s how I shoot fitness. Dark, gritty, sweaty. You should FEEL a fitness shot.
Nothing is more artistic than the human body. The curves, the way the light touches it, just pure natural beauty. This is why artists since the beginning of time have painted, drawn, and sculpted the human form. It’s the most beautiful and hardest to do.
